Verge Maintenance

In most cases the grass verges beside roads and footways, up to the boundary wall, hedge or fence, are part of the road. It is therefore the responsibility of Isham Parish Council to maintain these areas.

Throughout the growing months the Council cuts the grass verges within the boundary of the village. Parishioners are asked not to park vehicles on the grass, especially when the verges are to be cut as we are then not able to cut all the grass, therefore leaving areas uncut. Some parishioners do leave their vehicle on the verge but then cut the verges in front of their property themselves. We would ask that if you have a vehicle on the grass during village grass cutting, then you also cut the verge to maintain the tidiness of the grass in Isham. The cutting schedule is clearly identified in the 'What's on guide'.
