I have lived in Isham for more than 40 years having arrived as a young child. I attended the village school and grew up in the wonderful village community. I have only lived away from Isham for brief periods, once to spend 18 months in the United States and for a 4 year period in Deeping St James. During my time in the village I have been involved in many aspects of its community life including working at the pre- school play group, attending the Church and Chapel and supporting the Youth Cricket teams. I have raised my children here and they too, attended the village school.

I have been a teacher of A Level Psychology for 17 years, for the most part at Southfield School in Kettering where I have held many responsibilities including Deputy Head of Sixth Form and Head of Social Sciences which also included the role of Quality Nominee for BTEC provision. I have been an A Level examiner for Psychology and have recently been awarded Chartered membership of the British Psychological Society. Teaching is my passion and the greatest reward for me is to see young people reach and exceed their potential. I also love the pastoral side of my job and having completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I am able to support vulnerable students. I am fully committed to raising awareness of mental health issues, not only in the younger generation but in all age groups.

In joining the Parish Council, I hope to bring my skills of communication, critical thinking, team building and empathy to the table and become involved in maintaining the prosperity of the village and to help nurture positive relationships between villagers, councillors and other stakeholders. I am happy to listen to any concerns of villagers and will do my utmost to find fair and sustainable solutions.
